Bettie Lou (Fisher) Fourhman, age 92, of York, formerly of Red Lion, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Misericordia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Lower Chanceford Township, York County, on November 3, 1932, and was the daughter of the late Franklin E. and Sadie E. (McKinsey) Fisher.
Bettie Lou was the wife of 70 years to the late Stanley D. Fourhman, who preceded her in death on October 30, 2023. They were devoted to one another.
Caring for her family, especially her disabled daughter, Lori L. Fourhman, was Bettie Lou's greatest purpose. Her quiet strength and and dedication to Lori touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Bettie Lou is also survived by her son, Robin D. Fourhman, and his wife, Rebekah daughter; daughter Lisa K. Huth, and her husband, Ken; her granddaughters, Marci L. Krebs and her husband, Kevin, and Lydia G. Huth; her grandsons, Joseph L. Fourhman and his wife, Rhonda, Colin A. Huth, and Oliver S. Huth; and her great-grandchildren, Clark J. Fourhman, Alessandra R. Krebs, and Giuliana N. Krebs.
Also surviving are her brothers, Nevin Fisher and Lon A. Fisher and his wife, Darlene; and her sisters, Tonya Fouth and her husband, Nick, and Darla Kay Simpson and her husband, Mike. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Lila M. Fourhman-Shaull; her brother, Charles Fisher; and her sister, Ruth Brown.
A graveside service to honor Bettie Lou's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2025, at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Road, York. Friends and family are invited to gather at the cemetery's main entrance by 10:45 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Bettie Lou's name may be made to the Ben Zgorski Fund for Residential Home Improvements at Penn-Mar Human Services at www.penn-mar.org, an organization close to the family's heart.
The family extends their sincere thanks to the staff at Misericordia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the compassionate care provided to Bettie Lou during her final days.
