Graveside services for Betty Anderson, of Starbuck, Minnesota, will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Petri Cemetery in Cyrus, Minnesota with Reverend Micah Klemme officiating. Following the graveside service, all are welcome to lunch and fellowship at Minnewaska Lutheran Church in Starbuck.
Betty Lou Wickstom was born on August 25, 1932, in Morris, Minnesota, to parents Oscar and Annie (Reints) Wickstrom. She was raised in rural Morris and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Betty attended country school until the 7th grade and then continued her education at Morris High School, graduating with the class of 1952. Following her schooling, Betty worked at the local JCPenney store until 1954, when she was united in marriage to Warren Anderson on November 6, 1954. They made their home in Hancock and welcomed a baby girl, Vicky. Shortly after, they moved to Morris for a short time and then settling on their farm in rural Cyrus, Minnesota. Betty helped on the farm, doing chores, milking cows, raising cattle and chickens and selling eggs. Warren preceded Betty in death on April 2, 1996. Betty remained on the farm and eventually moved in with her daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Dale, near Starbuck.
Betty was a member of Minnewaska Lutheran Church in Starbuck. She had many hobbies, including: embroidering, knitting, her houseplants, sending and receiving letters from her beloved pen pals, and playing cards, especially with Dale’s sister-in-law, Betty. In addition, Betty was extremely fond of her teacup chihuahua, Tinkerbell. Most importantly, Betty relished the time that she was able to spend with her family – her grandchildren and her one great-granddaughter!
Betty died peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at the Stevens Community Medical Center in Morris, she was 92 years old.
Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Vicky and Dale Logan of Starbuck; her grandchildren: Adam (Monica) of Raleigh, NC, Tyler Logan of Cyrus, and Amber (Alex) Thomas of Eau Claire, WI; great-granddaughter, Raven Thomas; sister, Shirley Reynolds of Starbuck; and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents: Oscar and Annie Wickstrom; brother, Andrew Wickstrom; and an infant baby brother.
Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris is in care of arrangements for Betty.
