Obituary published on Legacy.com by Devlin Funeral Home - Cranberry Township on Dec. 6, 2025.
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Betty Jane Aquino, of Adams Township, on Friday, December 5, 2025, at the age of 80. Born on October 10, 1945 in Pittsburgh, Betty was the beloved daughter of the late Robert Kenneth "Ken" and Betty Condit.
Betty is survived by her loving daughter Susan (Kim) Anderson; her grandchildren Valerie Kuny and Ivy Wojtarowicz; sisters-in-law Barbara "Babs" Condit and Tina Fronrath; brother-in-law Tom Klacik; several cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her son William "Bill" Kuny; sister Roberta "Bobbie" (Tom) Klacik; sister Connie (Greg) Bilonick; and brother Kenneth "Ken" (Barbara) Condit.
Betty was a truly remarkable woman, with a quick wit, who loved travel, experiencing new and favorite restaurants, attending the theatre, painting and teaching painting classes. Her kitchen doubled as her studio, where she would spend hours immersed in her art. Betty was also an incredible cook, baker, seamstress and made amazing craft projects. She also owned and managed multiple rental properties and did much of the work herself or with her favorite sidekick, her daughter, Susan. There isn't anything she couldn't fix. She was an avid reader and a wealth of knowledge about so many things from valuable life hacks to history and philosophy. She was an extremely intelligent and accomplished woman who earned her master's degree as a single mom and was the Director of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education at Carlow College where she led the successful expansion of the program.
Betty moved to Arizona for 10 years to be an integral part of her granddaughter, Valerie's childhood & watch her grow up. She loved helping at Valerie's dance school and made most all the girls' costumes from scratch for their performances. She also cherished time with her siblings, in-laws and numerous friends and expertly hosted many holidays with everything so elegantly put together. Betty had a deep-rooted faith in Jesus and was a member of Saint Kilian Church in
Cranberry Township, PA.
In the summer, Betty's porch overflowed with beautiful plants and in the winter, those same plants filled her windows with life and color. She also had a deep love of butterflies and had a stunning collection.
Betty was one of the most kind, generous & giving souls and never met a stranger. She was loved, admired and respected by so many, no matter how long they had known her. Most of all, Betty loved her family very deeply and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with Susan, Bill, Kim, Valerie & Ivy. Betty enjoyed many "glamping" adventures with Susan, Kim and her grand dogs and cherished her mother-daughter trip to Key West with Susan. Susan & Betty also took a cruise to Europe together, and Betty talked about that trip all the time. Susan and Kim also took Betty and a dear friend on fun all-inclusive vacations to Cancun, Punta Cana & California (to celebrate her 80th birthday) over the past few years.
She had a deep love of her "grand dogs" Maggie, Lacy, Lucy, Bella, Gracie, Abby, Buddy & Tootsie as well as her own cats, dogs and sugar gliders over the years. On her final day, she was able to meet her newest grand dog, Bentley. They adored her snuggles, hugs & many kisses on the nose every time they saw Grandma. Lucy & Betty had an incredibly special relationship and Lucy loved when Betty asked if she wanted to go to grandma's and she followed right behind her to her car that she loved, hopped in and stayed with her for days going on adventures everywhere with grandma. Everyone in the neighborhood knew the two of them and loved seeing them out on walks. She also adored all the dogs in her community, and they loved coming to visit or stay with her. Unsolicited, Betty delighted all by expertly painting each of their dogs, capturing their essence perfectly.
