Betty Riley Batchelor passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert “Bob” Batchelor and a devoted mother to Karen Lynn Rose, Laura Lynn Rose, and Donna Rose Mueller. She was also a loving stepmother to Karen Frank, Bruce Batchelor and his wife Krista, and Linda Rockafellow and her husband Tim. Betty was a proud grandmother to ten grandchildren and great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister, Janet Haigley; and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth Riley, Donald Riley, and George “Sonny” Riley.
Betty was raised in Cockeysville, Maryland, where she developed the values of service and compassion that guided her life. She graduated from Towson High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Towson State University. Betty dedicated her professional life to caring for others as a nurse in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Franklin Square Hospital. Her compassion extended beyond her career through her volunteer work at Manna House and her active involvement in church ministries at Fork United Methodist Church. An avid world traveler, Betty embraced new cultures and experiences, carrying her warmth and curiosity wherever she went
Visitation will be held at E.F. Lassahn Funeral Home, P.A., 11750 Belair Road (Kingsville) on Monday December 29th from 4pm to 7pm. Visitation and Funeral services will be held at Fork United Methodist Church (Fork) on Tuesday December 30th with visitation beginning at 9am followed by the funeral service at 10am. Interment will take place at Fork United Methodist Church Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
