Betty Lou Blackburn, 87, of Dublin, passed away July 1, 2024 at home with her daughter and Hospice Care. She was born in Point Pleasant, West Virginia on May 4, 1937 to the late Verna (Shepherd) Lanier and the late Wilbert C. Lanier.
Also preceded her in death were 2 brothers, Eugene and Harry Hyatt. She married the Late Roscoe Blackburn on May 4, 1982; spending almost 40 years happily together.
Betty is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Beth Stitt (Bobby); granddaughters, Ashley and Tabitha (Andrew); grandson, Ashton; great-grandsons, Camden and Beau.
Also survived by sister-in-law, Olline Marcum; brother-in-law, Dennis Howell; and many cousins. She also leaves behind many lifelong friends. She had a way with crafts and baking wedding cakes. And she loved her many dogs she had through her life.
Immediate family will greet friends and family from 4 to 6pm, Monday, July 8, 2024 at Newcomer Funeral, Northeast, 3047 E. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, 43231. Service to honor Betty’s life will be held at 11am on Tuesday, also at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Franklin Hills Memory Gardens, Canal Winchester.
