Betty Irene Bowersox, 90, of New Franklin, passed away on October 14, 2025. She was born in Akron on July 9, 1935 to the late Oral and Tishie {Barr} Van Hook.
On February 16, 1957 she married Milton A. Bowersox Sr., and they spent 36 wonderful years together before his passing in 1993. In addition to her parents and her husband, Betty was preceded in death by her sons Jeff Bowersox and Milton Bowersox Jr., grandson Henry Bowersox, granddaughter Bobbie Ann White, and several of her siblings.
Betty is survived by her loving children, Debbie (Mark), Candy, Judy (Tommy), Tammy (Mark), Keith (Dar), Kenny (Janet); 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister Carol; sister-in-law Wilma; a host of nieces, nephews and their families.
Betty's family was the center of her world. She loved get-togethers, holidays, and sitting down for a good card game.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Newcomer Funeral Home, 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305 on Tuesday, October 21st from 11:00 a.m. until the funeral service begins at 12:00 p.m. A committal will follow the service at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, where Betty will be laid to rest with Milton Sr. To share a memory of Betty or leave a special message for her family, visit the guest book below.
