AHOSKIE, NC - Betty Drew Brabble, born on June 11, 1949, in Kenansville, North Carolina, passed away on December 8, 2024, in Ahoskie, North Carolina, at the age of 75. Betty's legacy is one of love, faith, and family. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Betty dedicated over 20 years of her professional life as a USDA inspector with Perdue in Lewiston, North Carolina, before retiring to spend more time with her family and community. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her devotion to her faith and her church family at Mercy Church.
Betty's life was a testament to her love for Jesus, and she found great joy in teaching Sunday School, sharing her knowledge and passion with others. She was actively involved with the Ministry Center in Ahoskie, always ready to lend a helping hand where it was needed most. More than anything, Betty loved spreading the good news about the love of Jesus with everyone she met.
A woman of many talents, Betty was known for her creativity and generosity. She lovingly crafted costumes for the Children's Christmas play at church, ensuring each detail was perfect. Her home was a warm and welcoming place. Betty enjoyed cooking, and one of her specialties was her famous chicken salad, which she delighted in sharing with friends and family.
Betty had a special fondness for all of God's creations, especially hummingbirds and redbirds, and her gentle spirit was evident in all that she did. Known for her humility, she always put others before herself, cherishing her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. In the winter months, she was never seen without her earmuffs, a charming testament to her practical nature.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Elma "Pinky" Pope Drew and O.D. Drew; brothers Davis Drew and Steve Drew; daughter Rebecca Drew Newmons; and son-in-law Kenny Coats.
Betty leaves behind a loving family: her devoted husband, Ronald Earl Brabble; daughters Paula Newmons and Sarah Coats; sister-in-law Jo Lynn Brock; brother Randy Drew; son-in-law Scott Brabble; step-son Jeffery Brabble and his girlfriend Natalie; grandchildren Ashley Jenkins and her husband Steven, Rebecca Clow, Gavin Artino and his wife Bailey, Angel Baker, and Bo Taylor; and great-grandchildren Journie Jenkins, Laykin Jenkins, Bradley Jenkins, Kolton, Layah, Kobe, Shy, Makayla, and Emery, all of whom will dearly miss her presence and guidance.
At her request there will be no formal memorial service, instead, her family invites you to remember Betty in your own way, celebrating the joy and warmth she brought into the world.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mercy Church, P.O. Box 923, Ahoskie, NC 27910, by clicking here or online at www.tmcfunding.com/search by typing Betty Brabble in the search bar.
