Frances Parker Brabble, 82, of Roanoke Rapids entered her eternal life on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab in Weldon NC.
She was born on April 27, 1942 in Gates County to Marvin and Lila Mae Casper Parker. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, two brothers, Monnie Parker of Ahoskie and McCoy Parker of Edenton and two sisters, Myrtle Pierce and Louise Harmon, both of Ahoskie.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Rayford Harris Brabble of Roanoke Rapids; her son, Kenneth Brabble and his wife, Vernessa of Blount's Creek, North Carolina; her daughter, Sandra Brabble Matthews (Willie Matthews deceased) of Roanoke Rapids, and her son, Michael Brabble and his wife, Lana of Nathalie, Virginia.
She is also survived by her two grandsons, William H. Matthews and wife, Brittany of Clinton, NC and Ken Brabble and wife, Megan, of Tarboro, NC; five great grandchildren, Graham, Everly and Loralai Matthews of Clinton, NC and Daniel and
Madelyn Brabble of Tarboro, NC; her two sisters, Dorothy Coats of Ahoskie and Lilly Hollowell of Tyner, NC as well as many
nieces and nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Mrs. Brabble was a long-time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Roanoke Rapids where she served as Nursery Director, Sunday School Teacher and Bible School Teacher. She worked with the youth and served on many committees. She served with much love and joy. She was employed in retail for many years as a manager for Brody's Department Store in Greenville, NC and also worked for Belk's Department Store in Greenville and Kinston, and Roscoe Griffin Shoes in Roanoke Rapids.
She was a beautiful and compassionate loving lady.
The family will receive friends and family on Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 2:00 PM, followed by the service at 3:00 PM at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services, 731 Roanoke Avenue, Roanoke Rapids, NC.
We would like to thank the staff of Liberty Commons Nursing and Rehab and Liberty Hospice for their kind and compassionate care.
Revelation 21:4 "And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain; for the former things are passed away."
Psalm 116:15 "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints."
Reverend Randy Martin and Dr. William Matthews will be officiating the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan's Purse or the Baptist Men for NC Mountain Hurricane Relief.
