Ann Vann Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service - Rich Square Chapel on Mar. 15, 2026.
CONWAY, NC - Ann Byrd Vann, age 77, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Northampton Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jackson, North Carolina. Born on April 1, 1948, to the late Ronald Byrd and Ellen Davis Byrd, Ann devoted her life to caring for others and nurturing her beloved family.

Ann is fondly remembered for her long-standing career at Pine Forest Rest Home, where she worked for over two decades. Her compassion and dedication to the elderly left a lasting impression on all who knew her in a professional capacity.

In 1990, Ann faced the profound loss of her husband, Keith Vann. In the wake of this loss, she wholeheartedly dedicated her life to raising her son, Heath. The birth of her twin grandsons, Dalton and Dawson, in 2006, brought renewed joy into her life. She relished every moment spent with them, taking great satisfaction in being a loving and supportive grandmother.

Family was the cornerstone of Ann's life. She cherished family trips to the beach and the mountains with Heath and his family, creating memories that will be treasured forever. Ann also enjoyed skeet shooting outings with Keith and Heath, blending her love of family time with a shared hobby.

Above all, Ann's love for her son, daughter-in-law Kelly, and her grandsons was unwavering, and it defined her life's purpose. Her joyful spirit, infectious laughter, and loving nature will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and devotion will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Ann is survived by her devoted son, Heath Vann, and his wife, Kelly, of Conway, NC; her cherished twin grandsons, Dalton and Dawson Vann, also of Conway, NC; and her sister, Susan Byrd, of Kinston, NC.

A celebration of Ann's life will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Garrett-Sykes Funeral Service-Rich Square, Rich Square, NC, with Pastor Ricky Barnes officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, at the funeral home.
