Betty Pearl Brower, age 94, a resident of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Life Care Center.
Born on January 11, 1931, in Oil City, Pennsylvania, Betty was the daughter of the late Rudolph R. Fornof and the late Elizabeth Maul Fornof. Some of her fondest childhood memories included spending time at their cabin in Youngsville, Pennsylvania, and visiting her grandmother’s lake house with her family. She especially loved family reunions at the park in Oil City and fondly recalled working at her uncle’s burger shop, where she enjoyed making milkshakes.
On May 7, 1949, she married the love of her life, Irwin “Van” Thomas Brower, who preceded her in death on September 5, 2011. In 1966, they moved to Lakeland, Florida where they raised their family. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Betty took great pride in her family and was dedicated to being the best wife and mother she could be. She lived her life grounded in faith and was a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. Betty was well known for her thoughtful card ministry, sending countless cards to uplift and encourage others. She also found joy in tending to her flowers, and she loved shopping. Betty will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, and the love she shared with all who knew her.
She is survived by her sons, Robert “Bob” (Linda) Brower, Thomas “Tom” (Liz) Brower, daughter, Darla (the late William “Bill”) Hall, beloved grandchildren, Jeff (Alisha) Brower, Julie (Jonathan) Little, Daniel (Yanina) Brower, Brittany (Stephen Kompsie) Hall, Devin Hall, and great grandchildren, Jeremy (Madelyn) Little, Carson Brower, Katelyn Little, Miles Brower, Anthony Little, Molly Brower, Audrey Little, Yaremi Rivera, Yaniah Rivera, and Kingston Kompsie.
