Betty Buysse Obituary
She was born on July 27, 1924, in Camp Point, Illinois, to Albert and Carrie (Betzer) Smith. Betty married David Buysse on December 30, 1947, in Atkinson, Ill. He preceded her in death on May 13, 1994.
Surviving are her daughter, Carol (Duane) Jones of East Peoria; five grandchildren, Matthew (Suzi) Jones of Naperville, Illinois, Jennifer (Brett) Williams of Peoria, Heather (Adrian) Wells both of Naperville, Illinois, Christopher (Lindsay) Jones of Effingham, Illinois, Nicholas (Jory) Jones of New Lenox, Illinois; and eight great-grandchildren; four nephews and one niece.
She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Betty earned her master's degree. She was a teacher until her retirement in 1989.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. Friday, December 5, 2025, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Morton, with Msgr. Jerry Ward officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 to 11:45 a.m., prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Roberts Cemetery in Morton.

I am so sorry to hear of Donna´s passing.
We lost touch after high school, but reading about her life´s journey, it is exactly what I would´ve envisioned for her. I remember her as a very sweet and kind person; I remember when she smiled her whole face lit up. Her life´s work reflected her generous heart, and I send sincerest condolences to her family. We have lost a bright light.
