Betty Dixon Cowart, a lifelong resident of Mobile AL, passed away peacefully on February 10th, 2026 at the age of 88. Ms. Betty rejoined her beloved husband, Allen Francis Cowart, Sr., who preceded her in death in 2014. She was born on February, 26th, 1937, to her parents Murdoch Dixon, and Betsy Dixon.

Betty was a woman who lived the gospel through her actions, most notably through her unwavering hospitality. She "never met a stranger," treating every new face with the warmth of an old friend. To Betty, welcoming a newcomer was not just a duty; it was a joy she performed with a constant, infectious smile.

Her greatest joy was found in the sanctuary, where she loved to sing worship songs and lift her voice in praise. She now continues that song in heaven, reunited with Allen-who himself loved gospel music and played the guitar and harmonica.

Ms. Betty is Preceded in death by her husband, Allen Francis Cowart Sr. ; her parents, Murdoch Dixon and Betsy Dixon; Her two brothers, Carl Dixon and Donald Dixon.

She was survived by her three children; Sons, Allen (Kay) Cowart Jr. Randall ( Diane) Cowart; her Daughter, Michele Cowart. Four grandchildren; Charissa, Josh, Heather, and Brandon; twelve Great-Grandchildren; Tara, Eli, Avery, Madeline, Annaliese, Dessie, Carabelle, Emma Rose, Adlee,Kory, Aliza Jane, and Bubbie; her three sisters, Joann Bender, Becky Shumate, and Helen Kinsey.

The Family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, February 13th,2026 at 11:00 A.M, with a chapel service to follow at 12:00 P.M. The internment will be followed at Springhill Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
