Aroha mai to the Whanau of Betty Dance. I worked at CCNZ 70/71 and was preparing to go to CCH/BYUH. Betty Dance was the Girl's PE teacher. A bundle of energy and enthusiasm. She accepted my offer to volinteer as an Outdoor Basketball coach. A game which most girls learnt in Elementry School. Soon after NZ started calling it Netball . I am sure Betty learnt this sport initially from her students but her knowledge of Indoor Basketball probably gave her an insight into strategies to use for favourable outcomes. Hockey, Indoor, Volleyball, Swimming, Fencing, Athletics and Tennis were some of the other sports she was involved in teaching along with ball room dancing. Like most PE department Betty and Les Rose were responsible for many of the big events that happen at CCNZ like various sports tournaments, Dance Fest, and Open House.
Go well dear Friend. There are many a happy student, parent and colleague to greet you.
