Elizabeth Mabel "Betty" (Shane) Danielak of Fort Covington, passed away at University of Vermont Alice Hyde Medical Center of Malone on December 19, 2024 at the age of 92. She was born at Alice Hyde Hospital on October 12, 1932 and raised on the family farm, Elm Row Farm, in Westville. She was the second born daughter of Emmett and Beatrice (Dumas) Shane. Betty attended the one room school house District #4 in Westville before going to and graduating from St. Jospeh's Ursuline Academy in Malone in 1953. After graduation she was employed at Warner Brothers in Malone where she met her future husband, Walter Danielak. They were united in marriage on September 18, 1954 at St. Mary's Church in Fort Covington by Msgr. Edmund Dumas. They moved to Georgia for several years when Walter was transferred the Malone Warner Brothers Branch. After the retired, they purchased their home in Fort Covington, where she presently lived. Betty is survived by a daughter; Mary Beth (Dr. Scott) Thornton of New Mexico, two granddaughters; Sarah and Emma, two sisters; Carolyn Faubert of Malone and Patricia Thompson of Fort Covington. Betty was predeceased by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Shane, her husband Walter Danielak, a son Walter Danielak Jr., sisters Mary Frances Shane and Vernita Shane, her brothers-in-law Jules Faubert and Lyle Thompson. The family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to Theresa Viau for her loyalty and care for Betty which allowed her to stay in her home. Calling hours will be held January 3, 2025 from 9:00 am to 11:00 am at the funeral home with a funeral service to follow. Online condolences may be made at www.fraryfuneralhome.com
