Betty Dortch Obituary
Betty Lanier Dortch, 89, widow of James Harold Dortch, passed away peacefully Friday, November 21, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Dortch was born on August 9, 1936, in Florence, a daughter of the late Donald Sebastian Lanier and the late Clara McCoy Lanier. She was a member of the Lions Club and the Litchfield Country Club where she was part of the lady’s golf group. Mrs. Dortch was also a member of the Red Hat Society and volunteered at the Camp Baskerville Food Pantry. She loved life, finding joy in various activities such as golf, sewing, fishing, crabbing, and gardening.
Survivors include four children, Deborah Daniels King (James) of Charleston, Lisa Daniels Rogers of Socastee, Henry Martin Daniels (Sandra) of Boca Raton, FL and Charles Sidney "Chuck" Daniels (Lisa) of Georgetown; nine grandchildren, Anna King, Ryan King, Laura Verhine (Daniel), Becky Ruskin, Savanna Bowlby (Alston), Blaze Daniels (Aleksandra), Ward Daniels (Kendal), Sydney Daniels and Ellbie Daniels; and one great granddaughter, Saylor Daniels.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Monday, November 24, 2025, at Ridgeway Funeral Home.
Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tidelands Community Hospice, 2951 N. Fraser St. Georgetown, SC 29440.
