Betty Edwards

Funeral Service for Mrs. Betty Edwards, 79, of Start, LA, will be held at 2PM, Wednesday, December 3,2025, at Dennard Fist National Funeral Home, Rev. Jeff Thomas will be officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home at 1PM until the time of service. Interment will take place at Newton Cemetery, under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro, La.

Betty was born at home in Big Cane, LA on January 14, 1946, to the union of the late Bernice Myers and the late Ella Mae Myers, and went to her Heavenly home November 29,2025 in Winnsboro, LA.

Mrs. Edwards was a devoted member of Start Baptist Church and a cherished part of the Start Community. She found great joy in spending time with her family and loved baking, decorating cakes, and creating beautiful ceramics. Her warmth, creativity, and steady presences will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Byran Edwards, as well as a brother, Bill Myers and a sister, Nancy Scott.

Betty's legacy lives on through those who survived her, two sons, Bud Yates and wife Cathy, and Rick Edwards and wife Christy, three grandchildren, Cody Yates and wife Katie, David Browning and wife Bridget, and Christopher Browning and wife Jessica, ten great grandchildren, two brothers, Bernice (Reb) Myers and wife Maggie, Bubba Myers, two sister, Katie Hart and Charlotte Gillespie, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
