Funeral services for Viola "Dee" Maxie, 88, of Natchez, MS. will be at 12 pm Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Highland Park Baptist Church, Natchez, MS., with Rev. Troy Dennard officiating. Interment will follow in Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Dennard First National Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 am until the time of service at the church.

Dee was born December 21, 1936, in Orange, TX, to the late Ulysses Badeaux and the late Eva Myers Badeaux. Dee went to her heavenly home on November 19, 2025, at her residence with her family at her side.

Dee had a great love for her family and a passion for the Lord. She enjoyed spending her time watching hummingbirds and doves, cooking especially for the hunters in her family, and playing Candy Crush. Dee always welcomed people into her home and life with open arms.

She is preceded in death by her parents: her husband, W. R. Maxie Sr., son, David P. Brown; daughter, Tena Theresa Carpenter, great-granddaughter Laelah Ann Hannon-Mayer, and bonus granddaughter Melissa O'Mare.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Eva Mayer of Hammond, La., Jarri Matise of Metairie, La, and Velma Heidel and husband Rob of Natchez, MS., her bonus children Willie Robert Maxie, Jr, of Natchez, MS., and Debbie Freeman of Natchez, MS.; 14 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren; her fur baby 'Lady'; 6 grandpups; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Blake Heidel, Paul Heidel, Robert Heidel, Steven Lazarus, Ashton Lively, Devon Long, Little Billy Maxie, and Jay Sturgis.

Honorary Pallbearers will be David Bozeman, Josh Eads, and Jesse Martin.
