Betty Joyce Emerick, age 90, of Vandalia, IL passed away Friday, December 5, 2025 at SBL Fayette County Hospital Long Term Care in Vandalia, IL.

Betty was born May 15, 1935 in Vandalia, IL the daughter of William Earl and Gladys V. (Stone) Carman. She married Noah Frank Emerick on October 6, 1956 in Truro, IA. Frank passed away on December 12, 2014. Following graduation from Vandalia High School, Betty was employed by Johnson, Stephen, & Shinkle Shoe Factory in Vandalia. After several years, she later became a homemaker and full-time mother. She returned to work in 1977 working at Leo Brown Lumber with her husband Frank. She enjoyed working with the customers in the Paint Department until retiring in 1994. She was a member of Crown Point Church.

Betty is survived by her son, Larry Emerick of Vandalia, IL; daughter, Pam (Pete) LeDuc of Vandalia, IL; daughter-in-law, Connie Emerick, of Hillsboro, IL; grandchildren, Greg (Marsha) LeDuc, Amie (Ben) Willenborg, Noah Emerick, Gabe Emerick, and Elizabeth Carroll; 13 great grandchildren; and sister, Kay Snyder of Vandalia, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Terry Emerick; grandson, Chris Carroll; brothers, Earl, Bill, Danny and George Carman; sisters, Barbara Turner, Louise Turner, Jean Tedrick, Gracie Wheeler, and Shirley Kingston.

Services will be held on Thursday, December 11, 2025 at 11:00 am at Crown Point Church in rural Vandalia, IL with Pastors Pete and Greg LeDuc officiating. Burial will follow at McInturff Cemetery, Vandalia, IL. Visitation will be held from 9:30 am to the service time at 11:00 am on Thursday at the church. Memorial donations may be made to Crown Point Church and/or McInturff Cemetery Maintenance Fund. Miller Funeral Home, Vandalia, IL is in charge of arrangements. Online memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.millerfh.net.
