Betty Briggs (White) Farnsworth

Lebanon, NH - Betty Briggs (White) Farnsworth of Lebanon, NH died Wednesday August 13, 2025. She was born in Dorchester, MA, on February 7, 1931, the daughter of Francis Charles White and Elizabeth Virginia (Briggs-White) Connor.

She graduated from Hanover High School in 1948, and Becker Junior College in Worcester, MA in 1951. She worked at A. B. Gile for 43 years and DHMC for 5 years. Betty loved all animals and opened her home to them. This led to her becoming one of the founding members of the Upper Valley Humane Society in 1959. Betty held each of the executive positions on the board of UVHS and was granted emeritus member status in 2006 after 49 years of active service with the organization and board.

She married Everett Homer Farnsworth on June 27, 1954 in Hanover, New Hampshire.

She is survived by her husband with whom she had a wonderful marriage of 71 years, son, Steven Everett Farnsworth and Lonna Lalonde of Vershire, VT, grandchildren Stephanie, and Stacey; son Jeffrey John Farnsworth and daughter-in-law, Wendy (Peters) Farnsworth of Enfield, NH, grandchildren, Ryan, Eric Farnsworth and Nicole and Mike Yukica; daughter Lori Wakeman and son-in-law Kit Wakeman of Etna, NH, grandchildren Kitch and Tristin Wakeman, and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her parents, step-father John Connor and Joyce Bonnett with whom she traveled every year. She loved her family, her animals and birds and spending time with her family and friends at her Crystal Lake Cottage.
