Betty Flowe

Betty Flowe of Decatur passed away peacefully Thursday, December 5, 2024 at her home with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was born December 26th, 1940 in Halifax, North Carolina to Katie and Fred Podruchny.
Betty worked in the furniture industry with her husband for many years and then in their "retirement years" they both ran Burningtree Country Club. Betty and Tom were married for 57 wonderful years. You rarely saw one without the other. Betty loved traveling and watching her grandsons Mac & Sam Murphy play golf. She was an amazing mother and grandmother and we will miss her so. She never met a stranger and we know that now she is saying "Hi Dear" to everyone she meets in Heaven.
She was preceded in death by her parents Katie and Fred Poduchny, her husband Tom Flowe and her brother Grady Podruchny.
She is survived by her daughter; Jan Murphy (Billy) of Decatur, Alabama; her brother; Fred Podruchny, Jr (Jean), her sister; Mary Ann Sorie (Billy) and Sister-in-law; Faye Podruchny; all of Roanoke Rapids, NC, one brother-in-law; Gene Flowe (Pat) of Brunswick, Georgia, and two grandsons; Mac and Sam Murphy of Ruston, LA.
A memorial service will be held in her honor on Monday, December 9th at 3:00 pm at Peck Funeral Home.
