Betty Jane Fullerton,97, passed away peacefully Wednesday March 19, 2025, in the comfort of her home surrounded by family.
Born in Norfolk Virginia on December 30, 1927, and spent many of her early years in the Willoughby section of Ocean View. She was a graduate of Granby High School and Kee's Business College. Betty married her high school sweetheart, Jim, and travelled the world for 22 years as a Navy wife spending time in Hawaii, predating it's statehood and the Panama Canal Zone. Settled in Virginia Beach in Lynnhaven Colony in 1968. They continued to travel in their RV throughout the US and Canada and decided to spend the winter months in Fort Meyers Florida for 18 years. She loved to travel, go on cruise ships, dance. She had numerous 50-mile pins that she earned with her swimming club. Love to spend time with her close friends in her sewing group and play mahjong. Betty Jane was a long-time member of Francis Asbury Methodist Church.
Betty Jane is survived by her two sons Jesse Fullerton and his wife Sue, Todd Fullerton and his wife Cindy. Grandchildren Jeniffer Colatriano and her husband Larry, Reece Fullerton and his wife Megan and Austin Fullerton. Great grandchildren Daulton Weit, Jordan Fullerton, Kimberlee Weit, Teague and Sadie Fullerton.
Betty Jane was predeceased by her Husband of 77 years James Andrew Fullerton, who passed just 4 months earlier. Her parents Janie Debusk James and Jesse James and her granddaughter Kimberly Fullerton.
A graveside service for Betty Jane and Jim Fullerton will be held at their family plot in Elmwood Cemetery in Norfolk at a later date. Please share your condolences with the family at www.StricklandandFamilyFH.colm
