Our hearts are broken as we say goodbye to Susan Reed of Norfolk, Virginia who passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, at the age of 69.
Born on April 18, 1956 in Rhode Island, Susan filled every room she entered with love, laughter, and warmth. She married the love of her life, David Reed, on April 14, 1979, and together they shared 46 wonderful years of marriage. Their bond was one of true partnership and friendship built on love, laughter, and countless beautiful memories.
Susan was a devoted wife, a loving mother to Erik, Jessica, and Andrea, a proud grandmother to Katelyn, Tyler, Alex, Isabella (Nox), Jesalyn and a delighted great-grandmother to her precious great-granddaughter, Caleesi. She is also survived by her beloved brother, Glenn of New Hampshire, and her many nieces and nephews. She was rarely without her loyal dog, Luna, who brought her endless joy and comfort. Her family was her world, and she poured her heart into caring for each and every one of them.
She created a warm and welcoming home filled with love. Susan was happiest when surrounded by family cooking and sharing meals, celebrating milestones, or simply enjoying time together. Susan's love of music, a gift she inherited from her father Gary, was something she cherished deeply. Whether it was singing along to her favorite songs or finding comfort in a familiar melody, music was always a source of happiness and connection for her. She had a passion for NASCAR, the Red Sox, elephants, reading, and coloring.
Susan had a beautiful gift for making everyone feel cared for and important. She was the one her loved ones turned to for a steady hand, warm heart, and the voice of comfort. She gave selflessly, loved deeply, and left a lasting mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Though our hearts ache with her loss, we take comfort in knowing that her love and spirit live on in the traditions she created, the recipes she passed down, and the countless memories we'll hold close forever.
Forever loved, forever missed, and forever in our hearts.
