Edward "Ed" J. Lindonen, lovingly known as "Lindy," passed away on September 12, 2025, at the age of 84 in Hampton, Virginia.
Born and raised in Concord, New Hampshire, Ed joined the U.S. Air Force, where he proudly served four years as an Aircraft Instrument Technician. After his honorable discharge, he began a distinguished career at NASA Langley, where he dedicated over 50 years to the field of instrumentation. Throughout his career, Lindy was recognized with many honors and accolades for his commitment and expertise.
Ed is survived by his devoted wife, Mildred "Mitzi" Lindonen; his brother, Bill Lindonen Sr.; and his daughters: Theresa Allen (Dwight), Bonnie Tomlin, Becky Brink, and Evelyn Covert. He is also survived by his nieces, Mary Spader (Ed) and Barb Guay; his nephew, Bill Lindonen Jr. (Janet); numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; as well as many dear friends and acquaintances who will deeply miss him.
A military service and interment will be held at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, 5310 Milners Road, Suffolk, VA, on October 10 at 10:00 a.m. A celebration of life will follow on October 12 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at VFW Post 3219, 122 E. Mellon Street, Phoebus, VA.
