Betty Jean Gilbert, beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend, entered into rest on June 24, 2024, in Cleveland, TX. She was born on March 14, 1945, to Jesse Mize and Geneva Crippins Mize in Cleveland, TX. Betty will be remembered for being a devoted member of The Red Hat Society, her kind heart, loving nature, and unwavering support for her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving children, Cathy L. Gilbert Mayes (Billy), Randy Eugene Gilbert (Lorraine), Dennis Jay Gilbert (Danna), Dianna Gilbert Bailes (Scotty), Angie Gilbert Pemberton (Stacey), Lisa Singleton Moore (Stephen), and Cecil Bennett (Carol). Betty is also survived by her brother, Billy Mize (Kay); numerous loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other family members, and many wonderful friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Lee Mize and her mother, Geneva Crippins Mize, husband, Marvin Eugene Gilbert, her sons Donald Allen and Ronald Lee Singleton, her brother Donald Mize, and sister Linda Mize. During her life, Betty touched the hearts of many and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A visitation for Betty will take place on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Neal Funeral Home from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, at 10:00 AM. Interment for Betty will immediately follow at Security Cemetery. Honoring Betty as pallbearers will be Josh Hullen, Steven Street, Anthony Ray, Richard Sanders, Mason McGlaun, and Kaleb McGlaun.
