Betty Wheeler Hamilton lived a long, full, and meaningful life-one defined by love, faith, creativity, and family. She passed away peacefully from natural causes on December 22, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving behind generations who were shaped by her gentle strength and generous heart.
Betty was born on May 18, 1927, in
Conyers, Georgia, to the late Sim and Nell Wheeler. From an early age, she developed the quiet determination and nurturing spirit that would guide her throughout her life. She later made her home in Norcross, Georgia, where she became a cherished and well-known member of the community.
On July 3, 1947, Betty married the love of her life, the late Robert "Bob" Arch Hamilton. Their marriage spanned decades and was marked by devotion, partnership, and deep love. Together, they created a warm and welcoming home and raised a beautiful family. Betty was a proud and loving mother and mother-in-law to Lynn Hamilton Griffeth, Larry and Kim Hamilton, David and Debbie Hamilton,, her beloved son, the late Robert "Stanley" Hamilton, and daughter-in-law, Tricia Hamilton, whom she loved all dearly.
As her family grew, so did her joy. Betty was blessed with eight grandchildren and their spouses: Michael Hamilton Griffeth and wife Meredith, Allison Baldomero and husband Eddy, Jake Hamilton, Jill Hamilton Maher and husband Jason, AutumnCole and husband Chad, Michelle Williams and husband Jeremy, Matt Hamilton and wife Hillary, and Mitchell Hamilton and wife Kourtny.
She delighted in her role as great-grandmother to Marin Rhys, Stella, Theo, Jalen, Braden, Avery, Liam, Justin, Keaton, Addison, Callie, Beckett, Teryn, Walker, and Archie, and she lovingly remembered her two great-grandchildren who preceded her in death, Ryan and Laela.
Betty took great pride in her home and family. A talented homemaker, she poured her creativity into sewing, quilting, and gardening, leaving behind handmade treasures and traditions that will be cherished for generations. She enjoyed reading and spent many peaceful hours birdwatching, often sharing her observations and quiet joy with loved ones.
Faith was a cornerstone of Betty's life. She was a devoted member of Norcross First United Methodist Church for more than 75 years, where her kindness, faithfulness, and servant's heart made a lasting impact on her church family.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate Betty's remarkable 98 years on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at 12:00 p.m., in the Peachtree Corners Chapel of Crowell Brothers Funeral Homes & Crematory with Rev. Steve Pritchett, Rev. Brenda Westmoreland and her devoted Sunday School Teacher and dear friend Ben Helming officiating. The family will gather with friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m.
While her presence will be deeply missed, Betty's legacy lives on through the family she cherished, the faith she practiced, and the love she so freely gave. Her life was long, rich, and beautifully lived-and one worth celebrating.
