Betty Jo (Reeser) Singletary

July 18, 1936 – October 22, 2025

Betty Jo Singletary, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2025, surrounded by her family.

Born on July 18, 1936, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to Kenneth and Ollie Reeser, Betty Jo enjoyed a wonderful childhood alongside her parents and older brother, Roger. It was through Roger that she met Norman Cale, a high school friend who would later become her husband and the father of her four children.

Betty Jo and Norman shared many years together raising their family. She was the proud mother of Kent Cale (deceased 1985), Karen (Cale) Turner, Kelly Cale, and Kip Cale — all of Cumming, Georgia. She was also the adored grandmother and great-grandmother of Sara Alexander (sons Logan and Jaxon), Kara Tuthill (husband Robert, son Derrick), and Tara Walker (husband Adam, daughter Allie).

Some years later, Betty Jo married Bill Singletary (deceased 2022), expanding her loving family to include his wonderful children and grandchildren: Della Wirtz (husband Ed, children Taylor and Lofton), Warren Singletary (wife Rhonda, daughters Grace and Carly), and Leah Graves (husband Robert, children Chandler, Mary Margaret, Luke, and Hayla).

Faith was the foundation of Betty Jo’s life. She was deeply devoted to her church community, serving as a Sunday School teacher and church secretary, and she could always be found engaged in Bible study or daily scripture reading.

Naturally athletic, Betty Jo enjoyed tennis, water skiing, and hiking. She loved gardening, cooking, volunteering, and traveling. She and Bill explored the world together — leaving behind countless photo albums and even a video of the two of them bungee jumping in New Zealand!

Betty Jo had a gift for caring for others. She shared her kindness through thoughtful notes, home-cooked meals, and visits to anyone in need. Her sense of humor and infectious laughter brought light and joy to everyone around her.

She was, above all, a most beloved mom — cherished deeply and missed beyond words.

Funeral services will be held 12 pm Monday, October 27, 2025 in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, GA. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time prior to the service at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040.
