Betty Knouse Obituary
July 16, 1931 - March 12, 2026
Boalsburg, Pennsylvania - Betty Donalda Knouse, 94, of Boalsburg, died Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Wynwood House, Boalsburg.
Born July 16, 1931, in Axemann, she was the daughter of the late Blaine F. Hoy and Ethel Burgin McCloskey. On June 13, 1959 she married Robert W. Knouse, who preceded her in death on October 16, 2015.
She is survived by five of her children, Rita Flick and her fiancé Dan Northamer of Port Matilda, George Baney and his wife Gloria of Bellefonte, Christine Minnigh of Altoona, Apryl Caldwell and her husband Steve of Altoona, and Alice Goldenberg and her husband Gary of Phillipsburg, NJ; three siblings, Larry McCloskey and his wife Beverly of Hadley, Debra McCloskey of Harrisville, and Miriam Minnis of Warren; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and eight great-great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Carolyn Hopkins; and two siblings, Richard Hoy, Richard McCloskey, Barbara McCloskey and David "Gene" Hoy.
Betty proudly completed her GED later in life. She was a homemaker, friend, confidant, pet sitter, and more to many friends and family. Her passions were sewing and quilting. Hundreds of items were donated to her church missions over the years. Her beautiful quilts will be cherished by all recipients.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 250 E College Ave, State College, PA 16801.

Betty was the sweetest and most generous person. Her heart was quilting and sharing them with friends and Organisations. She was the person in charge of sewing and crafts at Stonebridge II. She will be missed by all of us and we can never forget her sharing stories. I am Sure she has a direct path into heaven..if there was ever an angel on earth , it was Betty. Liz Funke

My heartfelt sympathy to your family. Betty was so very special to our family for so many years. She would show up with a homemade treat, kindness and laughter. We had many wonderful conversations over the last few years. Our family was very blessed to know her. This is a correction to the other message I sent.
