Betty Louise Lyon

On December 18, 2025, Betty Louise Lyon (Strayer) of Biggs, CA, previously Live Oak, CA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was 89 years old.

She was born in Campo, CA, and moved to Michigan with her husband, where she started her family.

Betty moved back to California, after the death of her husband, and raised her children in Live Oak, CA, where she resided until shortly before her death.

Betty had a big heart and loved children; she ran a daycare for many years. Betty loved her dog, Gracie Lou, and was known to have her in dresses every day.

She was very social and enjoyed being around neighbors and always had her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren visiting.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Lyon; parents, Lily and Homer Strayer; siblings, Marie, Larry, and Shelly; and grandsons, Mason and Logan.

She leaves behind her sister, Ann; six children, Jeanette (Matt), Mike (LeAnn), Cindy (Jerry), Kim (John), Larry (Millie) and Dianna (Rubin); thirteen grandchildren, Christopher, Kyle, Andrea, Kaitlyn, Taylor, Ryan, Dustin, Joey, Chucky, Michelea, Krysta, Justyn, and Megan; and twelve great grandchildren, Celina, Lily, Elena, Baby Kyle, Layla, Ryder, Wade, Myla, Luna, Reina, Lizzy, and Sean. She also had many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

Arrangements are being handled by Gridley Block Funeral Chapel. Viewing will be from 4 PM to 6 PM. The Rosary will be from 6 PM to 7 PM, on December 29, 2025.

The funeral services will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Gridley, CA, on December 30, 2025, at 11 AM.
