Betty E. Margetts 1933- 2024 Betty E. Margetts, 91, died October 12, 2024, at her home. She was born January 23, 1933 in Clarks, Nebraska, the first daughter of Clarence (Pete) and Elva Cosner. Betty moved to Laramie, WY in 1935. Betty graduated from Laramie High School in 1951. She married Hubert (Hugh) Margetts, her high school sweetheart, in December 1950. She graduated high school early so she could follow Hugh, who was activated into the National Guard. After Hugh served his time in the military, he attended the University of Wyoming and graduated as a Civil Engineer. During this time, Betty supported their family by working as a bank teller. After Hugh graduated college in 1959, Betty and Hugh moved to Cheyenne and lived there until 1970. From there, they moved to Longmont, Colorado until 2002. Afterwards, they moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to be near family. In Longmont, Betty and Hugh joined a bowling league and met several wonderful friends. Betty was an avid golfer and played at the Sunset Golf club in Longmont. She won the lady's division a couple of times. Her secret to success was to one chip and one putt. Betty was also a plant enthusiast and grew African Violets. She won the state competition growing violets several times. She is survived by two children; son Kevin Margetts and his wife Lynette Margetts, and daughter Michelle Bell and her husband Dr. Greg Bell, 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister; Noma Alexander. Funeral services will be held Friday, November 1st at 10:30 a.m. at Montgomery-Stryker Funeral Home, followed by burial at Green Hill Cemetery in Laramie, WY.
