Betty Maroda Obituary
Betty J. Maroda, age 97, passed away at Hospice of NW Ohio on February 25, 2026.
Betty was born on September 8, 1928, to Peter and Frances (Beer) Zweyer in Toledo, OH. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Frances and Josephine.
Betty married George R. Maroda on August 7, 1948, and he preceded her in death in 2006.
Betty was a proud graduate of Central Catholic School, Class of 1946, and attended many class reunions and alumni luncheons.
Betty and George raised four children. They were members of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, where she was a member of the Alter Society. She also participated in other church functions when she was able. When her children were older, she worked part time at JC Penney at Southland and Libbey Owens Ford.
George and Betty moved to Florida in 1983, spending 26 yrs enjoying the warm sunshine. She was an avid reader and enjoyed playing bingo with friends in Jamaica Bay Community, Fort Myers, FL.
Betty is survived by her son, Timothy (Cathy) Maroda; daughters, Kathleen (Wayne) Monday, Nancy (Bruce) Wance, Patricia Maroda; grandchildren, Alexander Maroda, Christian (Ariel) McVicker, Kaendall McVicker (Michael Martinez); and four great-grandchildren.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 5, at 10:30 a.m., with an hour of visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to Hospice of NW Ohio. Please leave a condolence message for the family at CoyleFuneralHome.com.
