With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Betty Jean Crisp on July 21, 2025, in Round Rock, Texas, following an extended illness.

Betty was born on August 6, 1948 in Schwertner, Texas. She was the third child of Claude and Willie Lee (Summers) Marshall. She attended Booker T. Washington School in Bartlett, TX from first through tenth grade. During her sophomore year, she met and married R. L. White. They had two daughters: Betty Ann White and Mary Lynn White. After starting her family, she continued her education, earning certifications as a Medication Aide and Medical Assistant. She worked for several hospitals and agencies in Austin, TX throughout her career in healthcare. She was a dedicated healthcare professional who took excellent care of her patients and excelled in her role.

She was a devoted Jehovah’s Witness. Her favorite activities included cooking, thrifting, and playing games on her phone. In 2020, Betty retired to Orlando, FL, where she resided with her adopted son Willie Willis, his partner Nathan’ee Newby, and spent time with Willie, Nathan’ee, and Willie’s children, Brandon Wesley and Brielle Willis. She loved traveling and road trips with them. After five years in Florida, she relocated back to Texas.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents: Claude and Willie Lee (Summers) Marshall; her daughter: Mary Lynn White; brothers: Ernest Victor Summers and Henry Dukes Marshall; sisters: Bernice Brown, Claudia “Teeny” Marshall, Dora Howze and Lucille Haynes; grandson: Curtis Gerard White and great-grandson: Jeremiah DeShawn White.

She is survived by her daughter, Betty Ann White; her sisters, Wilma Faye “Willie Bee” Johnson, Annie Mae Ezika, Mary Ann Manges (John), and Patricia Poole; her brothers, John Dukes Marshall (Cindy) and El Roy Dukes Marshall (Rose); her grandsons, Quinten Lee Michael White, Xavian White, Raymond Wayne White, and Myles Lee Valentine; her granddaughters, Sade Somaon Constant (Eddie), Alexa Nicole White, Any’a Raveann White, Maya Denise White, Jacaya Chaniece Shelby, and Jasaya Denise Austin. She is also remembered by a special sister, Starr Sumter, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Betty bravely endured a lengthy illness and remained faithful and devoted to Jehovah. Although she is no longer here with us, she will Never be forgotten and will remain in our hearts Forever.

Family and Friends will gather for Visitation at Elgin Funeral Home, Monday, July 28th, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. A Celebration of Betty's Life will be conducted at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Bartlett City Cemetery, in Bartlett, TX.
