Betty Lou McDonald, 84, of Gove, died Sunday, November 17, 2024, at KU Medical Center, in Kansas City, KS. She was born March 21, 1940, Seattle, WA, to James and Frances Shaw. Betty was united in marriage to Merlyn McDonald on November 18, 1978. In her spare time, she enjoyed knitting and ran her own yarn store, Gove City Yarns.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and son, Bryan McDonald. She is survived by her husband Merlyn, of Gove; children, Stanley McDonald, John (Angela) Miller, Brenda Hoopingarner (Lance), Sterling (Debi) Miller, Scot McDonald, Deidre (David) Day, and Tiffany (Kenneth) Martin; sister Virginia Price and 24 grandchildren.
According to Betty’s wishes, a graveside service will take place at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Gove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the family and sent in care of Baalmann Mortuary, PO Box 391, Colby, KS 67701. For information or condolences visit baalmannmortuary.com
