Betty Ann Mohr, 96, of Fairland, passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at her home.
She was born September 25, 1926, in Indianapolis, the daughter of Weston Amick and Dorothy (Springer) Amick Reddy. On September 29, 1943, she married Wayne L. Mohr, and he preceded her in death on June 7, 1999.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Linda A. Jones of Fairland; son, Lowell W. Mohr and wife, Michele, of Fairland; brother, Joe Amick and wife, Janie, of Beech Grove; grandchildren, Christie Ballard-Ballou and husband, Jonathan, Vanessa Carmen and partner, Brittany, Lindsay Metcalfe, Robbie Metcalfe and wife, Ashley, Lori Keplinger, Lisa Everroad and Mark Wilson and wife, April; great-grandchildren, Braden, Rebecca, Jacob, Bane, Slade, Nashton, Hannah and husband, Drew, Caleb, Zachary, Justin and Mollie; great-great-grandchildren, Marley, Mason, Mia, Myles, Kayson and Nolan; and numerous nieces and nephews, including James Cottrell and wife, Sherrie, of Edgerton, Wisconsin.
In addition to Wayne, Betty was preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry W. Mohr; seven siblings; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chalmer and Ruby Mohr; grandsons, Jeremy W. Jones and Wayne Lee Mohr; great-grandson, Logan; son-in-law, Clifford E. Jones; daughter-in-law, Linda Mohr; and a grandson-in-law.
Betty was a long loyal and devoted member of Pleasant View Baptist Church.
She retired in 1984 from Western Electric, with over 25 years of service. While working at Western Electric, she obtained her GED from Tech High School, thru their In-plant program. Betty was also a member of the Pioneer Club at Western Electric.
Betty was a doting mother, grandmother, wife and sister. She was a loving caregiver to many of her family members, especially her husband and grandson, Wayne. Betty was known for giving the best hugs.
She enjoyed watching game shows with her favorites being, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Betty also enjoyed working word search puzzles and watching the hummingbirds and cardinals at her feeders.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 22, 2022, at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 12442 Southeastern Avenue, Acton, IN 46259.
Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, at the church, with Pastor Mark Kern officiating.
Interment will be at New Palestine Cemetery in New Palestine.
Services have been entrusted to Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, 819 S. Harrison St. in Shelbyville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant View Baptist Church or the donor's choice of charity.
