BETTY MORRIS
Henderson, TN: Betty Jean Roland Morris, age 95, passed away April 16, 2024, at her home.
She was born March 17, 1929, in Madison County and was reared in Madison County and Chester County, the daughter of the late Arb and Velma Murley Roland. She attended schools in Chester County.
On November 7, 1953, she married Leon Morris of Henderson County. They made their home in Henderson.
She worked at Salant & Salant Shirt Factory for twenty years and then at Grinnell where she retired in 1995 after twenty-six years.
She was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church but in her latter years she had attended and was active at Sanford Hill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Morris is survived by a son, Keith Howard Morris of Henderson and a daughter, Janice Carol Morris of Henderson and a grandson, Kevin Lynn Morris and a great grandson, Joseph Alexander Morris.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leon Morris in 2015 and two sisters, Frances Ada and Martha Sue Roland.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with Bro. Glenn Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Henderson City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at East Main 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday.
