Age 85, of Coal City, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, September 10, 2025, at her home.
Born on January 15, 1940, in Joliet, Illinois, Betty Carol was the cherished daughter of Emil Anton and Evelyn Mary (Nelson) Viano. Betty was raised in Coal City, graduating with the Class of 1958 from Coal City High School. She also contributed her time to the St. Vincent Table and supported school and community activities, including PTO and little league baseball, while raising her sons.
Betty owned and operated Town and Country Salon in Coal City for over 35 years, leaving a lasting impression on her clients and friends. She was also renowned for her cooking, particularly her famous fried fish, and took great joy in bringing comfort and connection to others through food. Betty loved sharing special moments with her sons at NASCAR races, creating memories that will be cherished forever.
Betty’s life was a testament to love, generosity, and devotion to family, faith, and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy of care, kindness, and culinary delight will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
