George L. Bowen, age 79, of Diamond, IL passed away at his home on Monday, November 10, 2025.

He was born on September 7, 1946 in Batavia, NY to George L. Bowen Sr. and Zoa (nee Wilbur) Bowen. He grew up as the youngest of four children and graduated from Rich Township High School in Park Forest, IL before earning his bachelor's degree in business from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. George married Patricia L. Piechalak, and together they raised their family of three children. He worked for Reliance Trading Company in Bedford Park, IL as the director of inventory control, retiring after 30 years.

George had an easy going personality and was fun to be around. When asked if he wanted to do something, his answer was usually "Sure, why the hell not?". He was a dedicated family man who enjoyed a good meal, traveling and sharing a beer (and plenty of laughs) with friends and family. George especially loved being a grandfather and never missed cheering for his grandchildren at their many sporting events, recitals, and school celebrations.

He is survived by his children, Ronald (Christine) Bowen, Jason (Andrea) Bowen, and Kristina (Darren) Morris. George had 10 grandchildren: Felicia, Amanda, James, Emily, Ellen, Gail, Macy, Mallory, Max and Jack.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia, in 2012; his parents, George and Zoa Bowen; his brothers, Kenny and Roger Bowen and his sister, Shirley Mann.

Cremation rites have been accorded.

A family "Celebration of Life Party" will be held at a later date.

Family and friends are encouraged to sign the online guestbook at www.ferrarifuneral.com
