Devon C. Elliott, age 52, of Diamond, IL passed away suddenly on Friday, January 16, 2026 in Wisconsin due to injuries sustained in a snow mobile accident.
He was born on December 18, 1973 in Joliet, IL to Charles H. “Chuck” Elliott and Lorene C. (nee Hahn) Elliott. He was raised locally and graduated from Coal City High School class of 1992. After graduation, Devon became an electrician with the IBEW Local #176 and joined Elliott Electric. He married his love, Tracy Bentson, on September 12, 2015 on her family’s property in Morris.
Devon enjoyed going to work every day. He was an early riser and would be off to the shop many times before the sun would rise. Being busy was his passion. He was a hard worker, giving 100 percent at the job site and helping anyone that he could, either on the job or off. In the evening, Devon was known to enjoy a bourbon after a hard day’s work. He was affectionately known as “Devo” by his group of close friends whom he treasured. In his spare time, he was a fan of Coal City Wrestling and helped coach with the Lil’ Coalers youth wrestling club. Most of all, Devon was a devoted husband and father to his five children. His joy in life was spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 10 years, Tracy Elliott; his mother, Lorene Elliott and his father, Chuck Elliott; his five children, Brandon, Korynne and Coleton Elliott and Ava and Noah Houston; his brothers, Shane (Jen) Elliott; Rory Elliott, Ian (Jill) Elliott and Colin (Melanie) Elliott; his mother and father-in-law, Doug and Sal Bentson; his sisters-in-law, Nicole (Brian) Jones and Holly (Mike Mueller) Bentson; and his god-parents, Kathie Barney and Ray Rogina. Also surviving are numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Anne (Bob) Wood, Leroy “Bud” Hahn and Charles and Lena Elliott.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the family.
