Betty Platz of Denver, Colorado passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, just after celebrating her 99 and half years old birthday.
Betty was born in Saint Charles, Missouri in 1926 to Eugene William Donzelot Platz and Helen Stella Simon.
Betty and her parents lived in Saint Charles, Missouri as well as Auburn, Nebraska where she graduated from Auburn High School.
She also lived in Montana with her parents before moving to Denver, Colorado around 1944. Betty enjoyed a successful 30-year career at Tenneco Oil as a bookkeeper before retiring in 1986.
Betty was devoted to her parents her entire life and took care of her father until he passed at the age of 100. She loved to be his caddy while playing golf throughout the Denver area public courses, especially Harvard Gulch later in life. She loved to travel to Las Vegas for a long weekend with her dad and her cousin Wanda.
Betty was always kind to others including her close friends and relatives. She loved the Rockies baseball team, even when they didn't play very well. She also loved outings and rides to the mountains. She recently was able to take her first ride on a Gondola in Vail, Colorado and her first reaction was "oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!" She was an avid reader and loved taking pictures, coloring and creating scrapbooks.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by many cousins in Colorado, Missouri, Kentucky, California and Wisconsin, including Richard "Rick" Platz, of Morrison, Colorado and Wayne Platz of Blue Springs, Missouri, both from her father's side and Mary Simons, of Lexington, Kentucky, from her mother's side.
Private committal services will be held in Saint Charles, Missouri where Betty will be laid to rest with her parents.
