Mrs. Betty Jean Pritchett Carter, age 91 of West Currahee Street. Toccoa passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at the home of her son.
A daughter of the late George and Bertie Walker Pritchett, she was born November 21, 1933 in Stephens County, Georgia, having lived most of her life in Toccoa. She was a homemaker, of the Baptist faith and a member of Tates Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed her garden and spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Carter and four siblings, Emory Pritchett, Una Gombrov, Ruth Payne and Grant Pritchett.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sandra Carter of Toccoa; daughter, Tassie Carter Gomez of Toccoa; grandchildren, Von and Michelle Ivester, Dasha and Gilbert Martin, Christy and Jason Ricci and Jodi and Matt Hicks; great-grandchildren, Kaiya, Brody and Gunner Martin, Rylan Ivester and Talan Grafton, Gage, Luke and Max Ricci and Reese and Kohen Hicks; a number of step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Royce Carter of Toccoa.
Funeral services will be Friday, June 20, 2025 2 p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Thursday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Her wishes were to be cremated. Inurnment will follow at a later date in Stephens Memorial Gardens.
