Betty Joyce Davidson Reeves was born on April 1, 1938 in Cerro Gordo, Tennessee, the daughter of the late John Walker and Birdie Marie McCasland Davidson.

On May 23, 1955, she was united in marriage to Melvin Wayne Reeves, who preceded his wife in death on May 23, 2017.

In her younger years, Betty enjoyed doing artwork and sewing. She worked as a cook for the school system in Melville, Louisiana. Mrs. Reeves was currently a member of El Bethel Church of Christ in Shelbyville, Tennessee and a former member of Mountain View Church of Christ in Savannah, Tennessee. She was a devoted Christian woman and strong in her faith.

Betty Joyce Davidson Reeves departed this life on January 19, 2025 in Chapel Hill, Tennessee at the age of 86 years, 9 months, and 18 days.

She is survived by her daughter, Debra Baham of Chapel Hill, Tennessee; son, Mikel Reeves of Clifton, Tennessee; sisters, Norma Stricklin of Collierville, Tennessee and Helen Hickox of Rienzi, Mississippi; brother, Roy Davidson of Savannah, Tennessee; 9 grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her sons, Arthur Ray Reeves and John Nathaniel Reeves; brothers, J.W. Davidson, Andy Loyd Davidson and Bobby Royce Davidson; sister, Elnora Creekpaun; and grandson, John Reeves, Jr.
