Joyce Ann Jackson was born on May 11, 1940 in Lutts, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Andrew and Frankie Brewer Price.
Joyce was blessed to be married to two fantastic men: Teddy Jackson for 41 years and TJ Kilburn for 7 years. She was a dedicated housewife and mother. She loved both jobs and would have made millions of dollars if she were to be paid. She was a fashion icon and always was one of the best dressed women you would ever know. She helped raise her 2 granddaughters and for them, it's like losing both a mother and grandmother. She helped mold them into who they are today. She married at 15 to Teddy and they enjoyed a lifetime of adventure until his untimely death. Upon his death, she began a new love of writing and singing songs. It helped her cope with her loss and brought joy to everyone that had the privilege of hearing and/or seeing her sing. She wrote over 315 songs, had her own music program on TV for several years and was always singing a tune at her church. TJ, her second husband, she knew from when they were kids growing up in Lutts. They found each other years later and married, and it was a fairy tale for all involved. TJ was loved by all in our family and it was a great loss when he passed. Mom was an outgoing, kind, and loving person. She touched many lives. She was the caregiver for Teddy, TJ, and her brother Grady during the last period of their lives. They all passed away with cancer and Mom was there for each and every one of them. She was an angel on earth and I am sure she is an angel in heaven right now. Her family will miss her dearly and all those who knew her. She fought her illness with dignity and strength. She beat cancer once but this time it claimed her life, but not her soul. Her motto was "I am going to live until I die" and she did that every day of her life until the very end.
Joyce Ann Jackson departed this life on March 15, 2026 in Walton, Kentucky, at the age of 85 years, 10 months, and 4 days.
She is survived by her daughter, Anita Pfaehler and her husband Leo of Walton, Kentucky; grandchildren, Danielle Vanhook, Erica Kohlman, and Anthony Pfaehler; great grandchildren, Brandon Kohlman, Grace Vanhook, and Sam Vanhook; and sisters, Josephine Middleton, Daisy Doyle, Ann Knoles, and Judy Hamilton.
In addition to her husbands and parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her siblings, Mearl Archer, Patty Tanner, Becky Price, Pete Price, Grady Price, and Lou Vandeveer.
