Betty Shirlene Rice, passed from this life on Monday, December 8, 2025, in Nocona, Texas, surrounded by her family.
Shirlene was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy and Linzie (Montgomery) Priddy; her husband, William Max "Taddy" Rice; her brother, Mike Priddy; her sister, Barbara Keck; and her cherished grandson, Trace Fisher.
Shirlene's life was marked by quiet strength, unwavering devotion, and a heart that welcomed everyone with warmth. She had a gentle, steady way about her-never needing the spotlight, yet always being the person others knew they could depend on. Her kindness was effortless, her humor soft but perfectly timed, and her love for her family was the guiding force of her life. She was the kind of woman who made people feel cared for simply by being near her.
She is survived by her daughter, Kayla Fisher and husband Roger of Randlett, Oklahoma; her son, Robbie "Bo" Rice of Nocona; her brothers, Royce Priddy and wife Donna of Throckmorton, and Mark Priddy and wife Sandra of Lubbock; her grandson, Ty Fisher and wife Erin; and her great-grandson, Barrett Trace Fisher.
Shirlene also leaves behind extended family she held close in her heart, including Kenneth L. Rhyne and his daughter, Deniece Lyndsay, and her husband John of Bowie, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Each one carries memories of her gentle spirit, her generosity, and the calm comfort she brought to every gathering.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM at the Church of Christ annex. A service celebrating Shirlene's life will follow at 2:00 PM in the auditorium. Burial will take place at Nocona Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, whose care and compassion were deeply appreciated.
Shirlene will be remembered for the love she poured into her family, the steadiness of her character, and the kindness she extended to all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she cherished so deeply.
