A native of Washington County, she was born on June 8, 1943 to the late William Thomas and Jessie Darnell Yates.
She was a member of the River of Life Church, a retired cosmetologist and a long standing member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Preceding her in death were six sisters, Nettie Lanham, Vena Stine, Margaret Mercer, Pearl Hawkins, Edna Wetherby and Mary Mattingly and four brothers, Tim, Joe, Harvey and Kenneth "Bud" Yates.
Survivors include three daughters, Lisa Chesser of Willisburg, Janet Osborne of Springfield and Michelle Chesser (Kerri) of Florence; five grandchildren, Candace Kidwell (Randy), Ethan Devine, Micah Devine (Lauren), Walker Chesser and Coleman Chesser and two great grandchildren, Aubrey Kidwell and Jaxon Kidwell.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 26th at the Carey & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Troy Shelton, officiating.
Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Willisburg.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Walker Chesser, Coleman Chesser, Aubrey Kidwell and Jaxon Kidwell.
Serving as casket bearers will be Ethan Devine, Micah Devine, Randy Kidwell, Terry Yates, Timothy Stine and Casey Stine.
Visitation will be after 10:00 Friday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
An Eastern Star service will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
