Irene Cheser Obituary

She was born in Lebanon, KY on July 18, 1952 to the late John Ed and Mary Alice Johnson Smith.
She was a 1970 graduate of Washington County High School and a retired employee of the University of Kentucky Federal Credit Union.
Preceding her in death were two sisters, Mary Fendley on July 16, 2025 and Theresa Osbourn on Nov. 4, 2025 and five brothers, Lenny Smith on Nov. 26, 2006, Tommy Smith on Sept. 20, 2007, Tony Smith on Oct. 14, 2018, Bill Smith on Jan. 5, 2018 and Paul Smith on Mar. 2, 2024.
Survivors include her son, Kevin Cheser (Kristen) of Versailles; four grandchildren, Christopher, Caleb (Emily), Emma and Megan Cheser; a sister, Betty Blandford of Springfield and four brothers, J.C. Smith (Ruth Ellen) and Kenny Smith (Delores) of Springfield, John Smith (Joyce) of South Bend, IN and Joe Smith of Alexandria.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 Saturday morning, November 22nd at the St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Pier Giorgio Dengler, O.P., officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Rose Cemetery.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be her four grandchildren.
Serving as casket bearers will be John Edward Smith, Jesse Smith, Jacob Graves, Larry Smith, David Osbourn and Michael Thompson.
A prayer service will be held at 5:30 Friday evening at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 Friday and after 7:00 Saturday morning a the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
