Theresa Smith Osbourn, age 81, of Springfield, KY passed away at 6:59 p.m., Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at the Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
A native of Washington County, she was born on January 4, 1944 to the late John Ed and Mary Alice Johnson Smith.
She was a member of the St. Rose Catholic Church and a former employee of St. Catharine Motherhouse and a retired employee of American Greetings.
Preceding her in death was a sister, Mary Smith Fendley on July 16, 2025 and five brothers, Lenny Smith on Nov. 26, 2006, Tommy Smith on Sept. 20, 2007, Tony Smith on Oct. 14, 2018, Bill Smith on Jan. 5, 2018 and Paul Smith on Mar. 2, 2024.
Survivors include a son, David "Buzz" Osbourn (Angela); a daughter, Denise Osbourn (Jeffrey Devine) of Springfield; four grandchildren, Devon, Austin, Abby and Jase Osbourn; two great grandchildren, Ava and Oakley Osbourn; two sisters, Betty Blandford of Springfield and Irene Cheser of Lexington and four brothers, J.C. Smith (Ruth Ellen) and Kenny Smith (Delores) of Springfield, John Smith (Joyce) of South Bend, IN and Joe Smith of Alexandria.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, November 10th at the St. Rose Catholic Church with Rev. Pier Giorgio Dengler, O.P., officiating.
Burial will be in the St. Rose Cemetery.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Betty Blandford, Irene Cheser, J.C., Kenny, John and Joe Smith.
Serving as pallbearers will be Devon Osbourn, Austin Osbourn, Jesse Smith, Justin Smith, John Edward Smith and Larry Smith.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 Sunday and after 7:00 Monday morning at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
A prayer service will be held at 5:00 Sunday evening at the Carey & Son Funeral Home.
The family would like to thank the caregivers who allowed Theresa to remain in her home these past few months.
