Verna Laray Osbourn, 93, of Llano, Texas, entered her Heavenly home and was reunited with the love of her life on Monday, August 4, 2025. She lived a blessed life as the matriarch of her family, and she will be dearly missed.

Verna was born on October 9, 1931, to Aubrey and Honerhea Hallmark. She was the oldest of two girls who grew up in Llano county. She met Olvis, who she would later marry, down on the creek at a very young age as their families were friends and neighbors. Olvis went off to World War II, and when he returned, that was when their beautiful love story really started to unfold. She married Olvis on December 20, 1946, at the young age of 15 years old. They spent many of their early years working together in the peanut fields, and in later years, working on ranches together. Olvis and Verna's marriage stood the test of time lasting over 76 years before Olvis passed away. In 1950, Verna & Olvis were blessed with the arrival of not one, but two, twin girls. Toni and Joni were their pride and joy. Verna spent several years working for The Corner Drug Store and Production Credit Association in Llano, Texas, until she retired. She formed long-lasting bonds with all of her co-workers, bosses, and borrowers. Verna was an active member of the Llano Church of Christ and her love for God led her to teaching bibles classes, hosting ladies' days, making arts and crafts for local hospitals, and leading ladies' devotionals. She was an avid home-maker with a passion for cooking and hosting both family and friends.

Verna is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Toni and Dennis Raesener of Llano, and daughter and son-in-law, Joni and Gary Howell of Valley Spring; grandchildren Chera Cox and husband Ricky, Carie Chance and husband Caleb, Kristi Hutson and husband Garrett, Kyndel McLeod and husband Michael; great-grandchildren Kalyn Vaughn and husband Brandt, Sheldon Springer and soon-to-be wife Bailey, Colten Chance, Cambry Chance, Carrys Chance, Ryder Cox, Kessler McLeod, Madden McLeod, Gunner Hutson, Taggert Hutson, Ledger Hutson; and several nieces and nephews.

Verna is proceeded in death by her husband, Olvis Osbourn, her parents, sister Bitsy Russell, grandson Tanner Wayne Howell, great-grandson Maddex Tanner McLeod, and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, August 7, from 5-7pm at the Harrell Funeral Home in Llano. Funeral services will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, August 8, at Harrell Funeral Home with burial to follow at the Llano Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Tanner Howell Memorial Scholarship through Llano National Bank and to the Cherokee Home for Children.

Pallbearers are grandsons Ricky Cox, Caleb Chance, Michael McLeod, Garrett Hutson, and great grandsons Sheldon Springer and Colten Chance. Honorary Pallbearers are Ryder Cox, Madden McLeod, Ledger Hutson, Gunner Hutson, and Taggert Hutson.
