Charles Howle Osbourn, known affectionately as "Bubba," passed away on June 11, 2025 - a date that carries profound meaning, as it also marked the anniversary of his marriage to the love of his life Patti on June 11, 1982. Their vows, spoken with love and devotion, held strong until the very end: "until death do us part."
Born November 10, 1960, in Quitman Tx. 1980 graduate Denison High School elected "most friendly". Bubba was a man of remarkable generosity, deep love, and a giant personality. He was the kind of person who would give you his last $20 bill and act like he had more to spare - not because he wanted recognition, but because his heart wouldn't allow him to do anything less. His selflessness knew no limits, and in the final act of his life, he gave the gift of life to others by donating two of his organs - allowing two individuals a renewed chance at life.
One of Bubba's greatest joys was spending Saturdays going to estate sales with Patti. Bubba loved a good find on unique vases, and his collection is bountiful. He was also an exceptional caterer who loved creating wedding reception and special events for families and friends. He had a special talent for making stunning fruit trays - vibrant, works of art that always drew compliments. It wasn't long before people would ask, "Who made this?" and soon they'd find their way to Bubba, asking if he could create one for their own special event.
Despite facing many medical challenges over the years, Bubba never lost his sense of humor. He had a gift for making others laugh - whether it was the doctors, nurses, or strangers in the waiting room. He often laughed at himself too, finding light in even the toughest of times.
When Bubba entered a room, you knew it. His presence was magnetic. He was the life of every party and carried with him a joy that uplifted everyone around him. He loved fiercely and fully - especially his family, and his friends. His constant love for his 3 beautiful grandchildren Jubilee, Harper, and Brooks. They knew him to be the best Papa ever.
Some of his most cherished memories were made at his mother's home, fishing off the pier with his sons Brent and Craig and his grandchildren - swapping stories, laughing over who would catch the biggest fish, and simply enjoying one another's company. Another special place for Bubba and his family was the beach. Galveston was their favorite road trip destination, where sunrises and sunsets brought him peace and filled his heart with joy. Together with Patti, his two sons, Brent and Craig, their wives, Lynnessa and Katy and his three beautiful grandchildren, Jubilee, Harper and Brooks, Bubba found his greatest happiness.
He lived a life full of love, laughter, and generosity - a true reflection of a servant's heart. We believe with certainty that when he left this world, he was welcomed with the words: "Well done, my good and faithful servant. Come home."
Bubba leaves behind his beloved family, wife of 43 years Patti, sons Brent (Lynnessa) Craig (Katy), grandchildren, Jubilee, Harper Brooks, mother Winnie Rimer and Wayne Rimer, sisters Billie Harder, Sheila Davis and Terisa Burgins (Don) and stepbrother Scotty Lyles.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dollie and Terrell Howle, Nina and Charlene Osbourn, Ruben Cowan. Father Charles Ed Osbourn, stepfather Preston Lyles, and beloved sister, Connie Rigsbay.
Funeral service for Bubba will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2025, at Trinity Lighthouse Church with Pastor Raymond England officiating. Interment will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery in Quitman, Texas. Family and friends will gather to visit from 2-3 pm prior to service time.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Richards, Jeff Aday, Scotty Lyles, Kenny Kimbrell, Don Burgins, Aaron Burgins, Tyler Burgins, and Chad Dailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Eric Oakley, and Brooks Osbourn (his best friend).
