Betty Sherman Obituary

NEW SPRINGFIELD - Betty L. Sherman, 80, died peacefully on January 23, 2026, at her home.

She was born on May 8, 1945, in Philadelphia, PA, a daughter of Anthony Danchise and the former Violet Peters. 

Betty graduated from Canfield High School. She worked as a gift designer at Gorant Chocolatier. Her friendly smile stood out during her years as a cashier, first at Dollar Tree in Boardman and later at Dollar General in Poland. Betty had a passion for yard work. 

She loved visiting casinos-both in person and online. In her spare time, she enjoyed engaging in puzzles, crochet, and various crafts.

Betty is survived by her son, Derek (Roxanne) Sherman, of New Springfield; daughter, Belinda (Brian) Poole, of New Springfield; sister, Donna Sherman, of TN; brother in law, Ralph "Sparky" (Joyce) Sherman, of VA; grandchildren, Bryson and Blake Poole; niece, Carla Manzolini; and nephew, David Sherman. 

In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Sherman and twin infant sons. 

A memorial service will be celebrated at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty's memory may be made to the ALS Association.
