CANFIELD - Michael T. Klem passed away on January 27, 2026, at Mercy Health Hospice House, at the age of 60.
Mike was born August 3, 1965, in Youngstown to Alvin and Jean Klem.
He graduated from Canfield High School in 1983 and remained active on the reunion committee. He attended Youngstown State University College of Business and began a lifetime career in sales, marketing and leadership roles that included Fortune 500 companies. He loved leading and working with teams to be the best they could, and his enthusiasm was infectious.
Mike always had a smile on his face and lived life to the fullest. He loved his family and especially enjoyed being G-Pa to his grandsons. He was also a positive influence in so many others' lives. He was very active in the community and had many hobbies and pursuits that included running cross country at YSU; motorcycle safety instructor for the state of Ohio and Harley Davidson; beekeeper and beekeeping instructor at the Mahoning County Adult Career Center, active member of the Mahoning Valley Olde CarClub; owner, appraiser and judge of classic automobiles achieving Senior Master Judge status for the Antique Automobile Club of America. His greatest passion was detailingand showing the VWs he owned.
Mike was a 32 nd Degree Mason and member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Youngstown and member of Colonel J Hillman Lodge #481 where he was an officer. He was a member and officer of the Aut Mori Grotto and joined the Clown Unit which he loved and was known as Bee Bee. His latest endeavor was to be a high school baseball umpire starting this spring.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kimberly (Litavetz) Klem whom he married May 14, 1988; his mother, Jean (Coulter) Klem of Austintown; his daughter, Kara (John) Klem-Novosel of Youngstown; two grandsons, Marko and Luka Novosel; sister Becky (Tod) Morris of Girard; his mother-in-law Phyllis Litavetz; brother-in-law John Litavetz; sisters-in-law Lisa Litavetz and Robin Rodney; nieces Morgan Rodney and Brooke Litavetz; nephews Zack Morris, Justin Rodney and Ryan Litavetz; and a host of uncles, aunts and cousins.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Klem.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday February 1, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm and on Monday February 2, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Higgins-Reardon Funeral Homes, Boardman-Canfield Chapel. Services to celebrate Mike's life will follow at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
