Betty Sims Obituary
BETTY SIMS - Betty Baldwin Sims, age 77, of Columbus, MS, passed away October 19, 2025, at her residence. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Gardner officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Lamar County, AL. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
Mrs. Sims was born May 16, 1948, in Aberdeen, MS, to the late Alvis and Sybil Marie Bowman Baldwin. She retired from General Tire then worked with her son in their family business operations. Mrs. Sims attended Victory Freewill Baptist Church and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Harold Sims, brothers, Kenneth Baldwin and Gordon Baldwin, and sister, Gloria Templeton.
Survivors include her sons, Stephen Sims and his wife Lisa of Steens, MS, and Jason Sims and his wife Kate of Columbus, MS, brother, George Baldwin of Columbus, MS, sister, Jean Hall of AR, and grandson, Stephen "Bradley" Sims and his wife Phebe of Steens, MS.
Pallbearers will be Ben Sala, Joe Sala, Billy Spears, Jason King, Donald Werner, and Chad Mobley.
